We’re sending Instagram star Blake Gray some good vibes today! The model took to Instagram on Sunday, May 5 with a medical update, letting fans know he recently had to undergo surgery due to a life-threatening condition.

The 18-year-old shared the news with a picture from his hospital bed, explaining that he had something called a pneumomediasteinum.

“Hey guys. As some of you may know, I’ve been in the hospital since Thursday,” Blake wrote. “I came in with chest pain and shortness of breath, and it turned out I had a pneumomediasteinum, which basically means there was a hole in my esophagus that allowed food, air, and fluids to leak into my chest and lungs.”

Hey guys. As some of you may know, I’ve been in the hospital since Thursday. I came in with chest pain and shortness of breath, and it turned out I had a pneumomediasteinum, which basically means there was a hole in my esophagus that allowed food, air, and fluids to leak into my chest and lungs. I had to get surgery the next day, where they inserted a metal stent in my throat that goes all the way down to my stomach. I haven’t had anything to eat or drink since I arrived at the ER 4 days ago, and I won’t be able to until my esophagus is fully healed. Thankfully everything is going to be okay, but this whole process has taken a huge toll on me. If the hole hadn’t been found early it would’ve been much worse. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to each of you that have been sending messages and prayers. Also to my amazing girlfriend who has been there every step of the way, I love you so much and I am so grateful to have you by my side. I would not have been able to get through this without you guys. I’m going to be taking some time to recuperate, but will keep you guys updated on my road to recovery. ❤️

Fortunately, the social media star caught the issue in time, and he was operated on the following day.

“I had to get surgery the next day, where they inserted a metal stent in my throat that goes all the way down to my stomach,” he revealed. “I haven’t had anything to eat or drink since I arrived at the ER 4 days ago, and I won’t be able to until my esophagus is fully healed.”

TBH, that sounds pretty rough, but luckily, he has a very positive outlook on the whole thing. Despite being exhausted, he knows things could’ve been much worse if he waited to go to the hospital. He also knows that, ultimately, he’ll be alright.

“Thankfully everything is going to be okay, but this whole process has taken a huge toll on me,” he added. “If the hole hadn’t been found early it would’ve been much worse. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to each of you that have been sending messages and prayers.”

He also gave an adorable shoutout to his girlfriend, Liv Occhigrossi, for sticking with him through this difficult time.

“Also to my amazing girlfriend who has been there every step of the way, I love you so much and I am so grateful to have you by my side,” he wrote. “I would not have been able to get through this without you guys. I’m going to be taking some time to recuperate, but will keep you guys updated on my road to recovery.”

Get well soon, Blake!
