It's been less than two weeks since Spy Kids' alum Daryl Sabara popped the question to his girlfriend Meghan Trainor. The whole engagement spectacle was caught on video, of course, and seemed absolutely magical. I mean, come on, it's Meghan Trainor. Did you think her engagement would be anything less than out of this world? Now, the happy couple is opening up about the weeks and months leading up to the proposal. Not only that but they are also talking about their wedding plans and whether or not kids are in the future.
The couple chatted with Entertainment Tonight at Fox's Television Association Critic's press tour where the "All About That Bass" singer said, "I'm the luckiest." She explained the two had actually been planning this together for a while. She added, "He hadn't slept [for] a long time. It was my dream come true and more." Daryl chimed in, "It was worth it."
Meghan posted a the clip from the couple's special moment with the caption, "I SAID YESSSS!!!! For my 24th birthday, the love of my life @darylsabara made all of my dreams come true. He proposed to me under a tunnel of beautiful Christmas lights and surprised me with my family and friends. I’m still in shock. I’ve never been this happy! Thank you Daryl, my family and friends for making me feel like a real princess ????? and thank you @ryan.trainor for this amazing video that I’m gonna watch over and over again ❤️."
The Nantucket native also revealed that she actually gave Daryl some pretty big hints about what ring she liked before he made the purchase. "That was the secret. But I just wanted to make it perfect, just in case, you know? It's like, 'Just so you know, this one is my favorite.' And he was like, 'But let me have my moment to surprise you.' And he took his time and had his moment." Apparently, Meghan is usually very hard to surprise but this time, Daryl was able to keep everything from her until the right moment which made for an extra special engagement.
As for when the wedding will actually take place, Meghan and Daryl aren't even sure yet! She said, "We've got a lot of friends and family and we're trying to think how we can fit them all in one place and it's going to take some planning." However, what they do know is that they want to have kids of their own at some point. Of course, she has a lot going on at the moment between her career and planning the wedding so don't expect baby Daryl's or baby Meghan's to be running around on her next tour. She actually credits Daryl for being able to stay fit and active so her body is ready for a child when the time comes.
Meghan explained, "He saved my life in every single way and he taught me how to eat healthy and we work out together." As for the kids part, "Not soon, not right now. That's why I'm working on my body. I want to be as healthy as I possibly can be for one day when we want to be kids." Freaking adorbz! Congratulations again to Meghan and Daryl – we can't wait to watch their journey to the altar.
